FaceTite Services in Central Texas

For many patients, the jawline and neck are the biggest areas of concern. There’s either too much fat, too much skin, prominent bands, or the jawline is not where they want it. Fortunately, there are many options to address these issues. Patients who need precision fat reduction or skin contraction now have a solution that can be done under local anesthesia.

At Facial Plastic Surgery of Central Texas, the medical team offers FaceTite, a treatment that uses radiofrequency energy instead of excisional surgery to achieve a patient’s desired look. Backed by a strong reputation in Waco and Central Texas, Dr. Charles Guy and his team specialize in cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures for the facial area. Find out more about the FaceTime procedure and what to expect as a patient.

What Is FaceTite?

Also known as radiofrequency-assisted liposuction (RFAL), FaceTite is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that’s performed in the office. It yields minimal downtime and almost no scarring. This treatment is performed through a series of tiny punctures in the skin, combining liposuction techniques and radiofrequency technology. During a FaceTite procedure, Dr. Charles Guy can do the following:

  • Tighten the skin on the neck and jawline
  • Stimulate collagen production
  • Remove fat beneath the surface

At Facial Plastic Surgery of Central Texas, this procedure can be performed in conjunction with additional treatments to help maximize the patient’s results. This includes Morpheus8 radiofrequency microneedling, MyEllevate suture suspension, and other treatments.

What to Expect When You
Choose FaceTite

The medical team at Facial Plastic Surgery of Central Texas takes a patient-centered approach to care, listening to each person’s concerns and learning their goals. As with all our other services, Dr. Guy evaluates each patient and reviews the FaceTite procedure step by step. He identifies possible health issues that may affect the results and answers any questions the patient has about the procedure, recovery time, and expected outcomes.

To begin, oral medications are given to help the patient feel relaxed and calm. The area is numbed with a series of injections to help ensure there is no pain or discomfort during the procedure. Through small openings, approximately the size of a coffee straw, a probe is used to deliver radiofrequency energy to tighten the skin. It also melts fat below the surface, and this liquified fat is immediately removed with suction.

The patient will have a wrap around their head to hold compression when they leave. This wrap comes off in the office the following day, and the patient will be given a removable, spandex wrap that can be worn or removed as needed during the first 10 days of recovery. Placing cool compresses on the neck and jawline can help minimize some of the swelling associated with the procedure.

During the recovery period, patients can expect the following:

  • There may be mild drainage from the probe sites.
  • There will be swelling in the jaw and neck, which will increase over the first few days and then slowly go down over the following weeks.
  • Numbness in the skin of the jawline and neck may take weeks or months to fully resolve.
  • The neck will have a firm, doughy feeling that resolves and softens with time.
  • Patients may have one to three sutures that need to be removed in the office seven days after the procedure.
  • Patients will need to care for suture sites by keeping them moist (be prepared for recovery at home with bacitracin antibiotic ointment).

FaceTite procedures are not very painful – and there’s usually minimal to no bruising. However, patients are given prescription pain medication in case it is needed. Most discomfort is from the headwrap that’s required during the first night. Otherwise, over-the-counter pain relievers usually are sufficient to alleviate discomfort.

Most patients may return to work within days after the surgery. The effects of fat removal are almost immediately noticeable, but it can take between six and 12 months for the tightening effects on the skin to finalize.

Why Choose FaceTite?

FaceTite treatments contour the face and neck, creating a more toned, youthful aesthetic in patients with mild and moderate signs of aging. It’s a great procedure for those who are not quite ready for a facelift or don’t want to handle the scars associated with excisional procedures. This cosmetic treatment addresses several common issues, such as:

  • Wrinkles/sagging skin in the lower face and neck areas
  • Some jowling
  • Other signs of aging

In terms of longevity, the results of a FaceTite procedure typically last for several years. While only one session is needed at a time, patients can discuss additional treatments to help maintain or improve their newfound look.
