MyEllevate Suture Suspension Procedure in Central Texas

The neck is one of the biggest areas of concern for people. They either believe there is too much fat, too much skin, prominent bands, or the jawline is not where they want it to be. Fortunately, there is a solution for patients who are unhappy with the look of their neck and jawline.

The MyEllevate suture suspension procedure is a great way to improve the area under the jawline, the bands on the front of the neck, and bulging under the jawline from the lowering of salivary (submandibular) glands. Learn more about this procedure and what patients can expect when they are in the care of Dr. Charles Guy and the dedicated surgical team at Facial Plastic Surgery of Central Texas.

This 40-50 y/o male underwent the MyEllevate neck suspension with neck liposuction in the office. There is no visible scarring with the procedure. He has improvement of his neck line and jawline.

What Is MyEllevate?

MyEllevate was introduced by Dr. Gregory Mueller, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills. The procedure is designed to minimize platysmal bands and enhance the neck to achieve a more defined shape of the jawline.

The facial and neck rejuvenation solution uses an ICLED light-guided suture rod system, which allows the surgeon to place a suture suspension underneath the skin without incisions. It is these sutures that shape and elevate the soft tissue in the jaw and neck region, providing the patient with a more youthful appearance.

Unlike more extensive surgical procedures, this type of neck lift surgery requires no incisions or skin removal. Because of this, downtime is significantly reduced, allowing patients to resume normal activities within a few days.

What to Expect

The MyEllevate procedure is usually performed in the office at Facial Plastic Surgery of Central Texas with oral medications to help the patient relax. After making the area numb, the procedure is completed through a series of tiny punctures in the skin. It is often performed in conjunction with neck liposuction and FaceTite to help maximize results. Patients can expect the following:

  • Patients will have a bandage wrapped around their heads when they leave and will be given a soft collar around the neck to sleep with at night and use during the day if needed.
  • There will be stab incisions by the earlobes, as well as one under the chin. There will be pinpoint stab incisions along the neck where the suture is threaded to suspend the area under the jaw. Patients will experience some oozing from these sites for the first few days.
  • There will be swelling around the jaw and neck. This will increase over the first few days and then slowly go down over the following weeks.
  • There may be some folds of skin near the back of the ears. These should flatten out over the first few weeks.
  • It is common to have some mild bruising in the neck after surgery. This will usually spread down to the upper chest with time before disappearing.
  • Expect numbness to the skin of the neck. It will take weeks or months for this to fully resolve.
  • The MyEllevate procedure is not very painful, but patients will be given some prescription pain medications in case they need them. Otherwise, over-the-counter pain relievers are usually sufficient to control the pain.
  • Patients may have two to three sutures that need to be removed in the office seven days after their procedure.
  • Most people can expect to return to work within days after the surgery.
